ZzzZzz

Line sucks and I'm not in the mood to write anything. I'll just post some trailers of the movies that I've mentioned in the previous post. If you haven't watched these movies, I guess you should! =D

A Random Update

Went to True Fitness for free trial on Wednesday. The trainer was trying to kill me. I felt my muscles were stretching to their maximum. I supposed to rest early that night but I only slept six hours as I had 8am class the next day.

Yesterday played futsal with my classmates in the evening. Another 2-hour vigorous sports. My stamina got depleted easily because I did not have enough rest. I was only able to fall asleep at 2am that night and woke up at 6am.

I really hate morning classes. I guess nobody likes though. SCREW them.

Today, I basically can sleep anywhere. I'm totally worn out. But the movie review organised by UTAR Film Club keeps me awake in the afternoon as they are screening a Thailand horror movie entitled 'Shutter'.

It was really a good movie with creepy scenes and frightening sound effects, but the storyline is a little too predictable. I still prefer 'Don't be Afraid of the Dark'. The child has impressive acting skills and the climax almost took my breath away.

Anyway, I am still craving for 'Real Steel'. Hope to catch the movie soon.

I need more rest now. Good night. =)

Steve Jobs Was Great?

I read an well-written article by Neeraj Thakur, a columnist from India, in Facebook just now. He thought that the death of Steve Jobs was overrated by the people around the world.

Steve Jobs Wasn't Great; He Wasn't Even Close - by Neeraj Thakur

What makes you great to the world, so much so that you become the ‘greatest’ of your times? Is greatness the title for those who become successful in their respective fields? Or is it that everyone who appears on TV has the chance of attaining greatness? Steve Jobs, who died fighting pancreatic cancer, being showered with so much love and respect raises this question.

While any celebrity has a right to an obituary, posthumous encomiums
(pieces of writing that praises Steve highly after his death) by way of comparison with other greats should not happen just because of the bankruptcy of a particular age in producing truly great individuals.

What defines Steve Jobs? The fact that he could make people go crazy about his company’s products?

If marketing is what makes you great, then our Indian politicians are the greatest, because they market themselves so well that even after their failures in one term after another, we keep voting them back to power. If making a new product is what makes you great, then there are many new products being invented everywhere in the world. Yes, the claim to launching the first personal computer goes to Jobs, but he was not behind its invention; he was the chief of the company that invented it. Any man heading the company that has a product to sell can do what he did.

To those who think he revolutionised cell phones, the fact is he just re-packaged his products by mixing up what was already out there in the form of already available gadgets/software like Blackberry, Palm, Windows, etc. A man becomes truly great for humankind and his passing away deserves mass mourning only if he has done something to better the lives of his fellow beings, overcoming personal greed and lust for power.

While all of us take our newborn kids to have ‘Do boond zindagi ki’
(I don't know what this means), to save our kids from the life-crippling polio virus, very few would know why those life drops come for free. There are many other diseases, medication for which does not come even at a reasonable cost, forget having it free.

The man who invented the polio vaccine, Jonas Edward Salk, decided not to patent his invention. After seven years of rigorous research, when he had the chance to become a billionaire, much like Jobs did, he refused to do so. When someone asked him ‘Who owns the patent of the vaccine, he replied, ‘Can anyone patent the sun?’ In civilisation’s history of one individual bettering the lives of fellow humans, can Jobs stand anywhere close to Salk?

Jobs did not even eradicate poverty with the immense wealth he accumulated by selling his so-called great products, invented by scientists who worked in his company. Instead, he rather stopped all philanthropist activity by Apple in 1997, saying philanthropy can ‘wait until we are profitable.’ Today, Apple is one of the world’s most valued companies (sitting on $40 billion cash) and ironically, it is perhaps the only one in its category that has no philanthropic contribution worth talking about.

I don’t own any Apple product, and most Apple aficionados
(a person who likes something so much and knows a lot about it) would accuse me of commenting on something that I don’t use. I am not commenting on the products he sold; I am commenting on the tears that are being unjustifiably shed on the death of a rich man. I am not taking anything away from Jobs as an entrepreneur, and the fact is that he was an inspiration for his company. But I find it difficult to accept the belittling of the very notion of greatness by bestowing it on those who worked for themselves and promoted the noxious idea that ‘profit motivates humans’, a theory that would have never given us the polio vaccine.

A really different and brilliant thought. =D

CANCER????

Most of you might be fooled by the title of this post. It is not the cancer that you have thought just now. I'm not having it and nobody around me is having it neither.

TOUCHWOOD.

What I mean is the fourth astrological sign in the Zodiac. Those who are born between 21 June and 23 July are known as cancerians.

I saw one of my friends wrote this on Facebook just now and I find it so damn accurate for me. It is about the personalities that a cancerian possesses:

巨蟹座

最善良最细心最敏感的星座、最重视亲情、对待爱人无微不至;
敏感,不计较,很重感情;脾气很硬!

巨蟹很需要安全感,很聪明、冷静;

English version: (Sorry if the translation is bad)

Cancer

The kindest, the most attentive and the most sensitive zodiac sign. Family is always their priority and take care of them in every possible way. Not calculative, affectionate and a bad tempered person.

Cancerians need strong sense of security. They are smart, calm, patient and naive. They hate hypocrisy and lies. They hardly reveal their true feelings and sufferings. They seem childish on the surface, but deep inside their hearts there are mature thoughts.

Cancerians could be a little neurotic, a weirdo and unpredictable. ;)

To those who are cancerians out there, *HI FIVE*. LOL

I think the interpretation above missed out the most important characteristic of a cancerian.

Narcissistic. =P

Doomy Days

I'm so down at the moment. Result had released two days ago. It sucks. It was not as good as I had expected earlier. Did I make careless mistakes terribly? Were my answers not clear and simple enough? Or were my answers could not satisfy the examiners' tastes? I wondered.

I knew result was not everything. Therefore, I should take it easy and try to make changes in order to see a better result the next time. While we can't laugh at the same joke over and over again, we can't be gloomy about bad things over and over again. =)

Having said that, I still felt something was wrong. I wish I could take back my papers and check the mistakes that I've done. I wanted to appeal. Unfortunately, a payment of RM100 is required for the appeal of each unit grade. The fee will be refunded if the appeal is successful and VICE VERSA.

I started to ponder. What kind of system is this? It is totally unfair to the students and this might be one of their business tricks. Is it really difficult to allow students to get back their papers and take some time to discuss? I will write a letter and question them about this matter.

Anyway, I'm ready to move on. Next trimester awaits me! =D

Salsa Dance

Anyone of you are interested in salsa dance?

I'm always interested in learning dances but I've never taken the initiative to sign up for any classes. Laziness really kills.

I also not very sure if I would be committed to learn them once I've signed up. I guess I'll find excuses for myself. =P

Anyway, I saw a video on Facebook yesterday night and found it very very impressing. Two teens rocked the India's Got Talent stage with their stunning moves and expressions. It is the most amazing salsa dance I've watched so far.

I bet they will win the title in the finale. They deserve it. Wish them all the best!

Detox Camp

Hey peeps, I've just got back from the 3D2N detoxification camp. I went to the washroom for a few times after I reached home. You would put yourself at stake if you happened to use my toilet now. LOL.

Before I went for this camp, my family and friends asked me the same question, "You are so thin, why do you have to go for this kind of camp?" Well, people always think of detox camp is only for those people who are bulky and want to cut down their weights.

As the technology revolves in our rapidly-changing world, we are actually exposed to more pollutants in our environment such as industrial waste, processed food, cigarette smokes and etc. The idea of detoxification is to clear the excessive toxic we've inhaled out of our bodies.

Another benefit of detox is that it helps us to maintain a healthy digestive system. Some people are too thin or too chubby is due to the malfunction of the body mechanism to absorb the nutrients normally. After detoxing, a person is able to gain weight or lose weight easily and healthily.

During the detox period (3-7 days), ONLY vegetable and fruit juice are allowed. Strictly no biting and chewing. Take health supplements such as protein, calcium, vitamin B, C, E and etc to prevent hunger and obtain sufficient nutrients during the period.

There is much more to tell. I can't keep on writing as I want to go for a nap. If anyone out there wants to look young and have a satisfying weight, approach me and I will not mind sharing the info with you.

God of Duke is waiting for me. Ciao.

October

Time really waits for no man. Another month has just started and I am already in the second week of my semester break.

Been busy keeping in touch with my old friends lately. I've joined a choir team recently and last Friday we made an audition video for a part time job. If we got chosen, we will be carolling in Genting starting from 12th December until Christmas. Meals, accommodation, and salary will be provided! =D

By the way, I will be going a detoxification camp next weekend in Genting. My mum asked me the reason to go for this camp. She thought I am really not suitable for this camp because I'm slim. Well, actually detox camp is good for those want to slim down and gain fat healthily besides clearing the toxic out of your body.

I'm feeling so good in this brand new month!

I don't really know why. At least I know I'm making full use of my holiday by joining fun activities.

Take care peeps. Hope to meet some of you during my semester break.
