A Trip to Dong Zen Temple.

It was a HOT visit to the FGS Dong Zen Temple(佛光山东禅寺) but eight of us really enjoyed it. =)

Together with my dad, mum, sister, uncles, aunt and her boyfriend, we were on our way to Jenjarom, where the temple was located. It took us about an hour to reach there.

Upon reaching there, all of us were enlightened by colourful sceneries and magnificent statues. We all had fun taking photographs even though we were 'roasted' under the sun. LOL

Here are some photos to share and I would like to recommend this temple to those who are bored during the Chinese New Year and loves to take photographs. You can bring your Nikon/Canon/Olympus/Panasonic camere to show off there and take great pictures!

By the way, the photos below are taken with a low quality handphone camera. =X

The statue at the front of the entrance.

Fatty uncle and I with the lanterns.

Flowers with striking colours.

A building with art exhibition and leads to the relics shrine (the top floor).

p/s : Cameras are not allowed in the relics shrine. You have to visit there to know what is relics shrine all about. You also need to wear socks to enter the shrine but you can buy it there though. Inside the shrine there are crystals and statues for you to look. Well, nothing much actually. They just make the shrine's ambience like a sacred place.

Tiger Vs Dragon?

Exotic photographs exhibition.

Aunt was doing her sutra caligraphy.

This is caligraphed by me, nice? The sifu there praise me for my neatness, concentration and patience in doing it. =D

The hanging calabashs.

The point-to-the-sky statue.

I would say my imitation skill is a failure. LOL

Do we look alike?

The shady hut, a place for you to get away from the eye of heaven.

Prayer Hall.

You gonna wear this on your shoes before entering the hall.

Was that a fan? SWT. =.=

Boring.

Why the Chinese New Year of this year is so freaking HOT and BORING?

Many has gone back to their hometown and those who are not, they are busy with their own plans. Me? Just staying at home and undergoing the rotting process. =(

Where are the firecracker and lion dance that usually heat up the atmostphere of the Chinese New Year (CNY)? Where are the lanterns that will light up the street during the night? Where are the CNY songs that are played in the shops? Maybe I'm staying at home all the while and I do not know what's going on around. But the TV programmes about CNY are getting much lesser compare to previous years.

So what happen to the CNY celebrations this year? Are the generations nowadays losing the spirits to commemorate the festival that are passed down by our ancestors? Well, CNY is not just about holidays, eating expensive cuisine and getting angpaus, but to remember our traditions and identity as a Chinese.

The biggest question is, are we chinese losing our identity due to globalisation? By looking at how the celebrations go on this year, I would say the answer is affirmative to a certain extent. We can perceive this in what we have done to our traditional clothes, traditional architecture and traditional festivals.

Do you still see girls wearing Cheongsam during the CNY? Do you still see our houses are built in a Chinese traditional way? And do you see the CNY celebrations are done in a grand way this year? Without a doubt, the Chinese are in danger of losing their identity. We are losing the traditional things that can identify us as a Chinese. To reverse the trend, actions should be taken immediately and effectively.

I'm off to relative's house now. FINALLY! Some plans for me to do. I'm going to hunt some angpaus, GAMBLE more and WIN more! Ciao, peeps.

CNY Dinner.

It was the craziest "Lou Sang" that I have done in my life with my bunch of craziest SN10rians.

The boisterous dinner was held on Thursday at a seafood restaurant called Ong Meng. Few of them were unable to attend for the dinner due to unforeseen circumstances. Those who attended, we were the noisiest group in the restaurant. We had scared some customers off and they shifted their sitting places!

Some dishes were toothsome and some were so-so. Well, let's do not comment much about the food because we should be grateful that we have food to eat. =) After the dinner, we had our chit-chat session and most importantly, CAMWHORE!

I really had a great time with you all during the CNY dinner. It was like a family reunion dinner. The event will not be a joyful one without you all. Even though we have less than one year to get along with each other, but let us cherish our time together, and strive hard for AS & A2 examinations!

Always remember SN10R stands for SN10R-ocks! Love you guys. =)

Raw Fish Salad, Yee Sang.

Tofu Soup? Can't remember.

Lotus + String beans.

Butter Prawn, the BEST of all dishes!
