Back from Langkawi.

Hey folks, I have just come back from Langkawi. What an awesome trip with my fellow classmates. We have been drinking these few days and enjoyed wide variety of cuisine in Langkawi. For drinks, we tried out the Carlsberg and Skol beer, Absolut vodka, Famous Grouse whiskey, Barcadi rum and etc. As for food, we tried out different kinds of vegetables, omelettes, prawns, chickens, fishes, squids and crabs. Above all, we shopped until we dropped for chocolates and alcoholic beverages! Well, I did bought some duty-free chocolates but not the alcoholic beverages. I was kinda broke that time and this will encourage myself to drink more if I buy them. Not good, not good. =P

After the last AS paper on 9th June, we went back to our homes respectively to pack our luggage. All of us met at the KLIA at 6.30p.m. and checked-in at the counter. Thanks to Jun Da's mum who have sent some of the guys including me to the airport. When we were about to board the airplane, there was an announcement that the boarding gate of ours has changed! All of us were rushing from one end to the another before we got on the right plane. Our flight reached Langkawi at around 9p.m. First, we went to the gas station to 'feed' our rented cars with petrol before going to our resorts. Upon reaching the Malibest resorts, we got the keys for our rooms and we put our luggage inside. We had our first dinner in Langkawi and called it a day.

The next day, we drove to Kuah Town and did some shopping there. We went to Eagle Square before heading back to our resort area for lunch. After that, we drove to the Underwater World, which was just a throwing stone distance from our resort. In there, we saw not just only the marine creature but land creature as well. We even saw penguins, fur seals and anaconda! It was really an eye-opening experience as we got to see lots of interesting creature that we had not seen in our lifetime. At night, we had our dinner in a restaurant near our resorts and we drank some vodka before we went to sleep.

On the third day, we drove to Oriental Village and took the cable car there to the Sky-bridge, which is suspended at 700 metres above the sea level. This unique curved pedestrian bridge spans 125 metres across the spectacular chasm. The view from the bridge was simply breathtaking. We were able to view the Andaman Sea and Thailand's Tarutao Island from there. We had our lunch and we walked around the village before moving to our next destination. Unfortunately, two of our rented cars broke down and we waited about an hour for the 'rescue team' to come. After the car batteries are charged, we were on our way to one of the waterfalls in Langkawi. The sound of the waterfall was calming and we felt great to swim in cold water! At night, we had our dinner in a Malay restaurant and we ordered some 'ikan bakar'. We drank whiskey and played MAFIA in our rooms before we called it a day.

On the next morning, we drove to the airport and someone was waiting for us there. He leaded us to a place where we had our mangrove tour. During the tour, we enjoyed the views of green mangrove forest with the flora and fauna living within it such as 'Bogak' trees, macaques and brown eagles. We also visited the Bat Cave and Fish Farm where you could interact with the marine creature - touch them. Devil rays and horseshoes crabs were available for touching and we played with the Archer fish as well. Stick a small piece of bread on one of your fingers, the fish would try to shoot the bread down from your finger or they will jump out of the water and bite your finger directly! After the tour, everyone was tired and the majority decided not to move on with the next destination - the hot spring. We went to the beach near our resorts instead. We swam in the salty sea, took the photographs of sunset, did some sand drawings and buried somebody in the sand! We had our last dinner in Langkawi and finished off our alcoholic drinks.

On the last day in Langkawi, we went to Kuah Town again to do some shopping. This time, we bought the shirts, chocolates and alcoholic drinks as much as we wanted. After that, we went to the airport and waited for our flight at 7.45p.m. Everyone was in heavy-hearted mood as we were so going to miss the trip. All of us returned home with a bumper harvest and looking forward to the next trip after A2 exams!

Photos will be uploaded soon by my classmates. Stay tuned for my Facebook! =D
